Why is chocolate (by the block) always wrapped in aluminium foil?

Why not waxed paper?

Cos it won’t hold its shape around the qiao ke li?

Apparently foil keeps the chocolate cooler and in better condition. It also has that gorgeous distinct metallic ‘crackle’ sound that a choco-pig like myself can hear from many miles away….

Haven’t you heard the marketing line “fresher in foil”?

At least it’s a single material. Those fruit juice containers are the worst – paper, plastic and metal all bonded together practically precluding any chance of recyclability.
